2. What the service does

eXpenx lets you record transactions, budgets, loans, investments and subscriptions, and produces summaries, charts and reports from them. It is available as a web application and as iOS and macOS applications that read the same account.

eXpenx is a record-keeping tool. It is not accounting, tax, investment or legal advice, and its figures are only as accurate as the data you enter. Decisions you take on the basis of what it shows you are your own.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
• The information you give us at signup must be accurate, and you must keep your email address current — it is how we reach you and how account recovery works.
• If you join a business account as an employee, the owner of that business account can see the financial data held in it. This is described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Free and paid plans

A free plan is available. Paid plans unlock additional features, which are listed on the Plan page in the web app. Subscriptions are sold only through the web application; the iOS and macOS applications do not sell anything and simply reflect the plan your account already has.

5. Prices, billing and renewal

• Prices are shown in Romanian lei (RON) and include VAT at the applicable rate.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for successive periods until cancelled, and the payment method on file is charged at the start of each period.
• You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked on the Plan page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; access continues until then and no further charge is made.
• If we change the price of a plan, the new price applies from your next renewal and we will tell you in advance.

6. Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU)

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of the day it was made, without giving a reason.

To withdraw, email contact@expenx.eu from the address on your account and tell us you are withdrawing. We will refund the amount paid, in full and without deducting for the days you used the service, using the same payment method, within 14 days of receiving your notice.

Your account reverts to the free plan when the refund is made. This right applies to consumers; it does not apply to purchases made by a business.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service to break the law, or to store data you have no right to hold;
• attempt to access another user's account or data, or to circumvent the access rules that separate accounts;
• probe, overload or interfere with the service or the infrastructure it runs on;
• resell or redistribute the service, or use automated means to extract data from it at scale.

8. Your data

The financial data you enter belongs to you. What we collect, where it is stored and how it is protected is described in the Privacy Policy. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Settings → Security → Delete Account; that deletion is immediate and cannot be reversed, so export anything you want to keep first.

9. Availability

We work to keep eXpenx available and correct, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, provider outages and faults happen. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue a paid feature that materially reduces what you are paying for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for lost profits, or for decisions taken on the basis of figures shown in the service. Our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights we will notify you by email before it takes effect, and the "Last updated" date above will change. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the revised terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Romanian law. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may bring proceedings in the courts there.
